BEYOND brilliant! Let me type out Rae’s lovely argument in response to this image so everyone can read it.
A) That egg is unfertilized
B) That seed hasn’t begun to germinate
C) I can’t tell whether the picture is supposed to be referring to the silk, silkworm, or both, but it’s either of the latter, and it’s kind of like pointing to a black person and saying “This isn’t cotton.”
D) It’s hard to tell because of the angle whether it’s actually the instant of conception because of the angle. Either way, personhood is a legal concept, so saying “abortion isn’t murder because a zygote/blatocyst/embryo/fetus isn’t a person” is begging the question. “Human” is the term the creator was looking for, and if that is the instant of conception, then it is a human.Analogy isn’t argument. If I could find a pictorial representation of analogy and make that into an obnoxious image macro, I would.
